AGRECOFARM Final Conference 2026: Advancing Agroecology Education in West Africa

Traditional agriculture across Sub-Saharan Africa is under growing pressure – from population growth and climate change to overreliance on mechanisation and the rising use of GMOs, all contributing to a decline in nutrition, biodiversity and agroecological knowledge. The AGRECOFARM project, co-funded by the European Union under Erasmus+ (Capacity Building in Higher Education, Strand 2), was created to respond to this challenge by building a new Master’s Programme in Agroecological Farming for a sustainable agriculture in West Africa.
As the project draws to a close, AGRECOFARM invites universities, researchers, institutions, development organisations and agricultural stakeholders to two Final Conference events — one in Ghana, one in Nigeria — to present the project’s results and discuss the future of agroecology in Africa, including regenerative, climate-smart and biodynamic agriculture.
