The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in collaboration with nine other institutions through the European Union-sponsored AGRECOFARM project, held a One-Day Stakeholder Workshop on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE) Lecture Hall.
The workshop was organised to solicit the views of various relevant stakeholders to the project from the academia, government, industries and the public at large. Renowned resource persons from academia, government, and the agro-allied industry presented insightful papers on key topics, including FAO Guidelines for Agroecology, The Policy Environment on Agroecology and Industry Perspectives on Agroecology. Others were Youth and Gender Dimensions in Agroecology, the Role of OAPTIN (Organic Network) in Agroecology, as well as Advocacy for Agroecology and Organic Agriculture Stakeholder participants came from the academia, government, agricultural agencies, student groups, and agro-allied industries.
Virtual participation facilities were also arranged to ensure inclusivity and broader outreach to stakeholders worldwide.
