Professor Picuno presented the AGROECOFARM initiative, which supports the development of MSc agroecology programs in Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
The initiative consolidates knowledge anddisseminates skills through a broad network of African and European institutions, demonstrating howinternational partnerships can drive curriculum innovation and capacity building in higher education.
The African Sciences of Agroecology, Nutritional Sciences and Ethnobotany (ASANE) Initiative hostedits second online session ahead of the in-person launch event scheduled for Accra in August 2025. This session focused on the alignment of ASANE with existing programs on academic training inagroecology, ethnobotany, and nutritional science across African universities. Participants fromacross Africa shared experiences on curriculum development, accreditation, and regional collaboration.
Theevent featured five presentations and an open discussion on potential pathways for ASANE to support and integrate with ongoing efforts. Simultaneous interpretation was provided in English and French tosupport inclusive participation.
